1. Full contact sport: is any sport in which there is impacting physical force, deliberate and incidental and allowed in the rules of the game. Contact is by tackling and blocking. RUGBY is a full contact game. The others are American football, wrestling martial arts (all varieties) and Ice Hockey.
In rugby Scrum is the best example of full contact. It is the restarting of play when the players from both teams hunch together and tightly interlock their arms and heads in readiness for the ball being thrown in by the scrum half. It is a shortening of scrummage or scrimmage and has now come to mean a riotous struggle in ordinary English.
2. Semi-contact sports are those sports that entail striking like kick boxing
3. Limited contact sports are those for which there are rules which prevent intentional or unintentional contact for example: baseball, basketball, soccer, field hockey, netball, squash & running.
4. No contact sports golf or curling, tennis, cricket, volleyball, swimming, sprinting, and gymnastics.

RUGBY or Rugby union (as it is called in some places like Australia and New Zealand) is played between two teams. Each team has 15 players on the field. Substitution for tactical reasons and replacement for players exit due to injury is allowed.
